Barcode, QR code and label inspection with OCR
Nara reads barcodes, QR codes and printed text, including Thai, from a camera. It checks that each label is present, readable and correct against the order, SKU or batch data, then accepts, rejects or alerts, and logs every read for traceability.

[ 01 ]The problem
Manual scanning is slow and misses items, and a wrong lot number, expiry date or allergen label means recalls and penalties.
- 01inputCamera on the label, package or parcel
- 02processRead 1D/2D codes and printed text (OCR, including Thai) and compare with the expected order, SKU or batch
- 03actionAccept, reject or alert, log for traceability, send to WMS or ERP
How it works
Nara’s code reader decodes 1D and 2D codes, and its OCR reads printed text, including Thai. A template string builds the expected value from the batch or order data, and a compare node checks the read against it. Mismatches are rejected or raise an alert, and every read is logged and can be sent to your WMS or ERP over HTTP.
Works with Nara’s built-in models. You set up the zones, rules and outputs.
[ 02 ]Variations
The same building blocks, applied a few ways.
- 01
Code and label reading
Read 1D/2D codes and printed text, compare them with the expected order or SKU, then accept, reject or alert, and log every read for traceability.
- 02
Label accuracy inspection
Check that the lot number, expiry date or allergen label is present, readable and correct against the batch data, and reject mismatches before they ship.
- 03
Parcel and conveyor processing
Detect each parcel over the conveyor, read its code or label, count it and route it through the PLC. The free “Conveyor parcel processing” course on help.nabrio.com shows the flow.
What you need
- A camera with a clear view of the label, ideally triggered by a part sensor
- Batch, order or SKU data to compare against
- Optional: WMS or ERP reachable over HTTP

FAQ
Questions, answered.
Can it read Thai text?
Yes. Nara’s OCR models read printed Thai as well as English.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. Nara runs on your own hardware on the local network, and images and results stay on-site. Eligible tiers also support offline licensing locked to the hardware.

Visual inspection by people is inconsistent and tiring, and it cannot keep up with line speed or cover every item.

Item and pallet counting
Manual counts of output, pallets, parts or batches are slow, error-prone and never real-time.

Vehicles entering and leaving a site are logged by hand at the gate, and parking and enforcement need a reliable plate record.
