Foreign object and contamination detection in bulk product

Nara watches a stream of bulk product, such as pellets, powders, food or rubber, and detects contaminants in real time. It alerts operators, holds the batch or triggers a reject, and logs every event with an image, so 100% of the product is inspected instead of samples.

[ 01 ]The problem

Contaminants in bulk product damage quality and customer trust, and manual sampling cannot cover the whole flow.

  1. 01inputCamera over the product stream or container
  2. 02processContamination model trained on your product
  3. 03actionAlert operators, hold the batch or reject, and log every event with images

How it works

A camera looks at the product on the belt or inside its container. A contamination model, trained in Reva on your product, checks each frame. When it finds a contaminant, Nara alerts operators straight away, can hold the batch or trigger a rejector, and stores the image and event for quality tracking.

We train a model on your own products or defects in Reva, and Nara runs it on the line.

What you need

  • A camera over the product stream, with consistent lighting
  • A PC or industrial PC running Nara next to the line
  • Images of your product and its contaminants to train a model in Reva

Nara building blocks

  • Camera nodes
  • Custom contamination model (Reva)
  • If / switch
  • Operator alerts (tower light, email, Teams, Telegram)
  • Image and event log

What it improves

  • Contamination incidents
  • Product value protected
  • Inspection coverage: 100% instead of sampling

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is this running in production?

Yes. At UBE Group, Nara has inspected 455 tonnes of fertiliser pellets a day since March 2021.

Does the video leave the plant?

No. Nara runs on your own hardware, and images and results stay on-site.
