Vision-guided robot arm and AMR orchestration

Nara lets robot arms and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) react to what is actually on the line. A camera checks the station, Nara decides, and it signals the robot to pick or reposition and the AMR to collect and route, while a dashboard shows robot and pallet status.

A robot arm and an AMR at a pallet station orchestrated by Nara

[ 01 ]The problem

Robots and AMRs follow fixed programs and do not react to what is actually on the line.

  1. 01inputCamera over the station
  2. 02processDetect whether the pallet is loaded, empty or out of position
  3. 03actionSignal the robot arm (pick, reposition) and the AMR (collect, route to the next free station)

How it works

An IP camera watches the pallet station. When a box is present, Nara signals the robot arm to pick it up, then calls the AMR to collect the pallet and take it to the next free station. If the pallet is out of position, Nara signals the robot to reposition it. A live dashboard shows pallet status, box detection and robot status. The whole flow is built in Nara’s visual editor.

Works with Nara’s built-in models. You set up the zones, rules and outputs. New robot or AMR brands may need integration work.

What you need

  • An IP camera over the station
  • A robot arm and AMR that accept digital I/O, Modbus or TCP/IP
  • A digital I/O module over Modbus, where the robot needs discrete signals

What it improves

  • Robot idle time
  • Manual handling
  • Throughput

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is any code involved?

No. Our showcase flow is built entirely in Nara’s visual editor: camera, detection, decision, robot and AMR signals, and the dashboard.

Which robots does it work with?

Robots, AMRs and controllers that accept digital I/O, Modbus or TCP/IP. New brands may need an integration, which our team or a partner can deliver.
